Dato’ Dr Suarn Singh Jasmit Singh

Dato' Dr Suarn graduated with M.B.B.S from University of Mysore, India in 1980. Received my psychiatric residency training from the University of Malaya in 1988 and Forensic Psychiatry from Institute of Psychiatry and University of London in 1997. I am a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist.

He was a former Head of Psychiatric Services and Advisor to the Ministry of Health Malaysia and Director of Hospital Bahagia Ulu Kinta, Perak. When he retired in August 2011, he continued to serve on contract with Ministry of Health Malaysia till October 2018. He was also an honorary lecturer supervising trainees at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, University Malaya and Universiti Sains Malaysia.

Has been involved in 41 Phase 2, 3 & 4 local & international multi-centre clinical trials, presented 93 papers at local and international conferences and 24 publications in books and medical journals.

He was the Inspector of MH 370 Air Accident Investigation Team in 2014, appointed under Civil Aviation Regulations 1996.

Currently a Chief Survey Surveyor with the Malaysian Society for Quality in Health for accreditation of Private & Public Hospitals in Malaysia. A committee member of the “Therapeutic Use Exemption, Anti-Doping Malaysia” since 2021.
