

Dr Khalid Al-Khelaifi

Dr. Khalid Abdulrahman Yousif Al-Khelaifi is a highly respected member of the country’s medical and medical education community. An orthopaedic surgery consultant with an impressive list of published research papers to his name, Khalid currently directs the visiting surgeon’s program at Aspetar Orthopedic Sport Medicine Hospital, Doha. His also the Assistant Chief editor of the well-known Aspetar Journal. Passionate about education, Khalid has shared his expertise through a variety of posts, including a spell as Assistant Professor at the Qatar branch of the prestigious Weill Cornell Medical College. He also holds classes at Qatar University Medical College.
Dr. Al-Khelaifi is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada and holds membership of the Canadian Orthopedic Association, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Orthopedic Society for Sport Medicine and the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee surgery, and Orthopedic Sport Medicine.
Dr. Al-Khelaifi’s expertise goes beyond the medical field. He has completed numerous leadership and business courses at some of the world’s most renowned executive education institutions. He is also a graduate of the Qatar Leadership Program. During college, he was Class of 2008 Representative, Medical Student Executive Council, nominated for three years in a row (MSEC). At McGill university, he was the doctors’ residents Education representative at the department. Now he is an alumni Committee member at Weill Cornell Medical College- Qatar.
He received many awards during his career. He got the Platinum Award for the “Education Excellence Day”, for the year 2008 and he presented the speech for the graduates and was awarded by His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani. Another award was Qatar science day award for being the best student in the country at high school. The award was received from His Highness Sheikh Abdulla Bin Khalifa Al-Thani. He also got His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani” (the Father Emir), award for the highest high school score in the country in 2002.
Dr. Al-Khelaifi was awarded and celebrated at Najah Qatari for his medical success in 2019. He was also celebrated and awarded at “Pride of Qatar” event at Qatar National Library in 2018.
