Dr Kent Jonny Andersson

Kent Jonny Andersson is an orthopaedic surgeon and hand surgeon, specialized in wrist arthroscopy, ligament reconstruction of the wrist and thumb among athletes, joint replacement in wrist, thumb and fingers and Nerve decompression of the hand and forearm. He performs all general hand surgery procedures from the fingertip to the elbow.

He was educated at the University of Gothenburg and has worked as an orthopaedic and hand surgeon since over 20 years. Dr. Andersson wrote his PhD thesis on wrist arthroscopy and wrist instability in 2016, at the Sahlgrenska Academy in Gothenburg, Sweden, and has published over 20 scientific articles. He has a large network of international well-known wrist surgeons and has ongoing research projects with prof Jan Ekstrand, prof Jón Karlsson, prof Jan Fridén and ass prof Elisabet Hagert. He is a member of the Swedish and European Federations of Hand Surgery (SHF and FESSH) and several wrist arthroscopy international faculties and has worked with prof Marc Garcia-Elias in Barcelona, Spain and prof Jörg Bahm in Aachen, Germany.

Dr Andersson also has a leadership-training certificate and has acted as the head dean of education in hand surgery for 4 years at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg, Sweden. He has a big interest in sport injuries in the hand, wrist, forearm and elbow and has been team physician for Swedish football teams in his hometown.
